Mayweather versus Mosley
World Champion Boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr., age 33 (41 wins, 0
Losses, 1, 25 Knockouts) remains undefeated
after his win by unanimous decision over an aging Sugar Shane
Mosley, age 38 (46 wins, 6 Losses, 1 No contest, 39 Knockouts). There was no doubt that Mayweather
would win the fight soon after he took control over Mosley in the
second round after being jolted by two of strongly connected
punches from Mosley in the Round 1. After the first round
which was even, Mayweather dominated Mosley with both speed and
accuracy.
The fight went the full 12 rounds; and the scorecards for
Mayweather were unanimous : 119-109, 119-109 and 118-110.
Both fighters walked away with some big money.
Mayweather earned a whopping $22.5 million, while Mosley left the
bout with $6.75 million before Pay Per View payouts.
Mosley is a tough fighter. In his previous fight
against Antonio Margarito for the WBA Welterweight title (Jan. 24,
2009, Las Vegas, NV), Mosley executed power and precision punches
putting Margarito to shame with a Technical Knock Out in 9 rounds. -- see
interview video below.
Clearly, Mayweather wants to fight current WBO Welterweight Title
holder Manny Pacquiao (51 Wins, 3 Losses, 2 Draws, 38
Knockouts) next, but only
if Pacquiao submits a blood test.
We hope to have our "man on the scene", Pete Allman at one of of
the pre-fight press conferences and at the fight, and post-fight
press conference should there be one. Meanwhile, watch
Pete's interview of Mayweather on the red carpet of the post-fight
party held at Mayweather's club, Studio 54 in Las Vegas, NV.
