Olympics in the 400 hurdles, Koya began cycling and swimming everyday to
speed her recovery. After moving to Marina Del Rey and developing a passion
for swimming and cycling, she set a personal goal to finish a sprint
triathlon which includes a ½ mile swim, 18 mile bike, and 4 mile run! Koya
competed in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon and was shocked that she finished
28th out of a pool of 128 in her age group! “I felt relaxed and
at peace! I can’t wait until the next one!”
